Seven days that changed the NFT landscape is our topic today. The catalyst was none other than Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). Skot Leach and Creataorious Rex discuss Ape Coin and its gift of $30,000 to $150,000 in immediately liquid value to Ape and Mutant holders. We also review the price action at $15 and how it is holding up. But that wasn’t all on the coin front. BAYC has also created a DAO with rights granted to Ape Coin holders.
CryptoPunks Acquired
However, Ape Coin was just one of the stories from BAYC over the past week. The big news cycle began with the announcement that BAYC parent organization Yuga Labs was acquiring that other ultra premium NFT profile picture (PFP) project Cryptopunks from Larva Labs. That acquisition was accompanied by the historically important Meebits collection. The deal was immediately followed by Yuga labs offering new rights to the Punk and Meebits owners.
The ApeVerse and Roadmap Leak
Where are Ape holders going to spend all of those coins? A Bored Ape hosted metaverse of course. That was news from the leak of a BAYC fund raising document that was circulating around the venture capital community. Skot has some thoughts about how this might play out. C-Rex discusses the economic model that the land sale in the new metaverse space will employ.
